HPL Members can access scanned copies of the Hamilton Spectator from Day One of its publication on July 15, 1846, to 2023.
Full-text, greyscale and colour images of feature articles, breaking stories, newspaper editorials, advertisements, cartoons, obituaries and classified ads are available.
Members can access ProQuest online at HPL Online – Magazines and Newspapers. A full list of Hamilton newspapers available through Local History and Archives can be found online at LHA Newspapers.
Members will need a Hamilton Public Library card to access the site. Access is possible from any HPL Library branch or remotely from home with a HPL library card.
